I'm a first generation college student from California's Central Coast. During my time in community college I became interested in biomechanics and rehabilitation. An internship in athletic training was where I was first exposed to chronic injuries with insidious onset. That experience led me to pursue an athletic training bachelor's degree then eventually graduate work in biomechanics. My interest in chronic injuries and rehabilitation drives my research in investigating lower extremity based gait alterations that may lead to novel rehabilitation in aging adults with musculoskeletal disorders.
I was fortunate to receive a teaching assistantship which cemented my interest in teaching. I enjoy integrating my background in athletic training into my teaching to help the next generation of clinicians.
Outside of teaching and research, I enjoy drinking strawberry flavored coffee drinks, reading, and attempting to take photos on my Olympus Pen EE3.
